Three Ways to Find Your Model

Way 1: it turns on

About This Mac

  1. Click the Apple menu at the top left of the screen, then About This Mac.
  2. The first line names the model and year, for example MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2023).
  3. Under it: the chip (M2 Pro), the memory (16 GB) and the serial number.
  4. For storage, click More Info and look under Storage. On older macOS it’s the Storage tab of the same window.
Way 2: it won’t turn on

The number on the underside

  1. Flip it over. In the small print near the hinge it says Model A2337, or another A number.
  2. Find that number in the lookup below. It gives the model, size, year and chip.
  3. If the number isn’t in the list, it’s an Intel MacBook from before 2020.
Way 3: only the box or a receipt

The label or the serial number

  1. The box label lists the model, chip, storage and color, plus the serial number.
  2. A receipt or an Apple order email usually names the model and the storage too.
  3. With just a serial number, Apple’s Check Coverage page shows the model.

Still not sure? Text a photo of About This Mac or of the underside to (916) 269-5021 and we’ll tell you what it is.

Model Numbers

What the A Number Means

Match the number from the underside of your MacBook. Each row opens the page for that model, with what we buy and what moves the offer.

Number not here, or About This Mac says Intel? That MacBook is older than the ones we buy.

Model Questions

Questions About Finding Your Model

About This Mac shows the chip but not the screen size. How do I find it?

The first line usually says it, as in MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2023). If yours only says MacBook Air (M1, 2020), it’s the 13-inch, because the M1 Air never came in 15-inch. Otherwise measure the screen corner to corner: about 13 or 15 inches for an Air, 14 or 16 for a Pro.

What’s the difference between M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max?

Same generation, more power as you go up. Pro and Max have more CPU and GPU cores and more memory, and they get higher offers. About This Mac names the exact one. The 16-inch MacBook Pro only comes with Pro or Max; the 14-inch comes with all three.

The underside is worn and I can’t read the number.

Use About This Mac if it turns on. If not, the serial number on the box or the receipt works on Apple’s Check Coverage page, or text us a photo of the underside and we’ll read what we can.

Is my MacBook too old to sell?

We buy MacBooks with an Apple chip, M1 and newer, which means 2020 and later. If About This Mac shows an Intel processor, or the A number isn’t in the lookup above, it’s older than the ones we buy.

Can I just text you a photo instead?

Yes. A photo of the About This Mac window, or of the underside, is enough for us to work out the model and send an offer.

FAQ

Selling Your Device in Sacramento — Your Questions Answered

Selling Your Device in Sacramento — Your Questions Answered

Where can I sell my phone for cash today in Sacramento?

Right here. Text (916) 269-5021 or fill out the form with your model and condition, and we’ll text you an offer within minutes. Accept it, and we’ll call or text to set a time that works for you. You’re paid in cash the same day we meet up.

What devices do you buy?

iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches, Samsung Galaxy phones and Google Pixels, plus new PS5 consoles and PlayStation Portal, and select cameras and lenses. Don’t see yours, or not sure about a camera? Text us the model and we’ll tell you if we can make an offer.

How do you decide what to offer?

We price every device off live resale data, so your offer tracks what your exact model is selling for right now. Model, storage, condition and carrier status move it the most. Describe your device fully and honestly, and the offer we quoted is the offer you get.

Do you buy cracked, broken or locked devices?

Often, yes. Phones and iPads with a cracked screen, a weak battery or a carrier lock still get an offer, just a lower one. Other tablets need an intact screen. MacBooks need to power on and work properly, and locked MacBooks are welcome, especially in good shape. For anything else, text us a photo and tell us what’s wrong, and we’ll tell you straight.

What happens when we meet?

Once you accept the offer, we’ll call or text to set a time that works for you, any day from 7 AM to 8 PM. We check the device together, which takes a few minutes, and you’re paid in cash on the spot. Sign out of your accounts before we meet if you can. Not sure how? We’ll walk you through it.

Do you buy more than one device at a time?

Yes. Each device gets its own offer, and you’re paid for all of them at the same meetup. Clearing out devices for a business or office? See our bulk buyout page.
